FHS 2025 Summer Reading and Learning

All FHS students, including all incoming ninth graders, have required reading and writing assignments due on the first day of school.

The Summer Reading lists for English classes include a variety of authors and types of books which take into account the diversity of our student body. Please encourage your student to read quietly for at least 20 minutes a day. To help you choose your book, you can read student-written reviews of the books from each grade's reading list.

The Framingham High School Library will be open for print book checkout during mornings in July while the Summer Institute is in session, or digitally on FHS's e-book/audiobook platform, Sora

FPL Library Card Information

  • Does your child have a library card?

A library card provides access to electronic resources as well as books and other materials from the Framingham Public Library.

Massachusetts residents may obtain a library card in person by presenting identification and proof of current address. There is no waiting period for a library card. You must be at least five years old to get a card.

You may sign up for a temporary card online, which allows you to download eBooks and access state provided databases. Please read the Minuteman page on temporary cards for more information.

Registering digitally is preferred but if you would rather fill out a paper form, visit the library in person.

RETURN YOUR BORROWED SCHOOL LIBRARY BOOKS

Thank you to all FPS families for returning library books. Please continue to enjoy borrowing books and returning them on time. If you find borrowed books over the summer, your child can return them in the fall, even if they have moved to a new FPS school. The Libraries can return books to their home school.
