WELCOME TO FRAMINGHAM!

The enrollment process for Framingham Public Schools is online. Applications should only be completed by families who meet the residency requirements.

Important: Our Multilingual Department will review all language exposure and determine whether language proficiency testing is necessary. 

Your child will be required to come for an English proficiency evaluation, which can take up to three hours. The test results will be used to make program recommendations, and testers will discuss the results with parents.


STEPS TO REGISTER A STUDENT

Please follow the steps below to register a student to start school now.

Please do not skip any steps. Ensure you get it right the first time.


 

STEP 1

Schedule Your Phone Appointment

Please gather all the required documents for registration (listed below) before scheduling your appointment.
 

  • Schedule your phone appointment using our online scheduler system. (Link at the end of this page)
     
  • Please choose the correct registration category based on the student's grade/age.
     
  • After scheduling your phone appointment, you will receive a text message and email with the link to our Registration Gateway Portal, where you can complete pre-registration and upload the required documents.

STEP 2

Complete the Online Forms and Upload the Documents
 

STEP 3

Phone Call Appointment with Guardian(s)
 

  • At the time chosen (STEP 1), you will receive a phone call from one of our registrars to discuss the next steps necessary to complete your child's registration.
     
  • We will verify the documents submitted electronically during the phone appointment. 
     
  • The student enrollment is incomplete until the Department of Student Registration staff has validated all documents required to complete registration.
     
  • We will discuss the school assignment, bus transportation, etc. 

Required Documents

Failure to provide these documents at the registration appointment will delay your student(s) enrollment.

Homeless families are encouraged but not required to provide these documents.

  1. Birth Certificate (long form birth certificate only) - please, no passports or hospital-given certificates.

  2. A student's photograph, for identification purposes at the new school, should show the student's face with their eyes open.

  3. Parent or Guardian’s ID (Valid driver’s license or ID)

  4. Lease (1st and last page) or Current Mortgage Statement dated within the past 30 days, or most recent property tax bill

  5. Utility Bill: Gas, electricity, water, cable/internet dated within the past 30 days

  6. Immunizations/Physical Exam dated within the last 12 months

  7. School Nurse Questionnaire and Health Forms (click on the link to complete the online form and upload the health records)

  8. If applicable, Individual Education Plan (IEP) or 504 Plan - If a child receives Special Education Services

  9. If applicable, Proof of guardianship/custody - If a child is not living with one or both parents or guardians

  10. If applicable, if you are living with a friend or family, please fill out the Residency Affidavit Form (This document needs to be notarized)
