Week 1: Hairspray Master Class

On Broadway, Judine Somerville was part of the original cast and singing trio sensation The Dynamites, in the Tony Award-winning musical Hairspray, and reprised her role on NBC’s live telecast. Other Broadway credits include: On The TownThe LifeCrazy For You, and Late Nite Comic. National Tour credits include Barry Manilow’s Copacabana and Jekyll and Hyde. She was a Former Rockette at Radio City Music Hall, performer on the Red Carpet at the Grammy Awards, and an Anthem Singer at Madison Square Garden.


Week 2: Voice-over Actor Jeff Johnson

Originally from Southboro, MA, Jeff Johnson has made a career as an actor since the late 90s. Before breaking into film and television, he was a Theatre Major at the University Of Massachusetts and played in the rock & roll cover band NSC. He started his performing career with lauded theatre groups. He won critical acclaim for the heart-felt faith-based film, Letters To God, where he played an alcoholic postal worker who befriends a child stricken with terminal cancer. He has a long list of film roles and television appearances on shows such as Bones, Criminal Minds, NCIS, Burn Notice, CSI, Without A Trace, Barbershop, and more. Over the years, he’s become an accomplished voiceover artist in commercials, industrials, narration, video games, and the like. Most notably, Mr. Johnson has been the voice of TMobile since 2012. “Captain Black”, his debut as a feature film writer/director was featured in 11 film festivals worldwide, earning awards for Best Actor, Best Film & Best Direction. He has also been dipping his toes into producing film & music.


Week 3: Actor Brian Thomas Smith & HBO Max Casting Executive Morgan Redfield Smith!

The third week of our celebrity series features a casting director and an actor in a double feature! Morgan Redfield Smith is an FHS graduate & is currently working in LA as a casting director. She worked for many years casting Shonda Rhimes shows like Scandal & How to Get Away With Murder. She is currently working for HBO. She is happy to answer any questions regarding TV casting & HBO casting. Brian Thomas Smith is an actor who is probably best known for his recurring role as Zack on the Big Bang Theory. Brian Thomas Smith provided this reel showcasing his role as Zack on Big Bang Theory. He has appeared on The Amazing Race, Fear Factor, & Two and a half Men, as well as in many commercials, films, and shorts. 


Week 4: Actor Shafiq Hicks

Shafiq Hicks will be our guest speaker on Monday. He is an actor and musician from Philadelphia who recently performed as Tom Collins in the 25th Anniversary tour of Rent. When not on stage, Shafiq studies voice at Temple University. Rent is his first tour. As a vocalist, he has sung background for Estelle, Andrea Bocelli, and Aretha Franklin. Theatre credits include Songs for a New World (Man 2), Pippin (Charles), The Wiz (Lion), 25th Spelling Bee (Mitch Mahoney). Shafiq and I attended high school together and he is such a superstar and sweetheart. He came to Cameron in October while Rent was touring in Boston and the kids absolutely adored him. Please join us! It will be an absolute blast!

Emily Skeggs is an American stage and screen actress best known for her Tony-nominated performance as Medium Alison in the 2015 Broadway production of Fun Home.


Week 6: Actor/Producer Ken Arpino

Our final guest of the season is actor, writer, and self-proclaimed nerd Ken Arpino! Ken wrote and co-starred in “Ruben and Clay’s… Christmas Show” at the Imperial Theatre on Broadway, is the Executive Director of Wolfbane Productions, and is co-owner of the independent film company, Pals of Dorothy.
