Today (Tuesday, December 11th) was a very special day for Framingham's youngest learners! BLOCKS students celebrated 'Fancy Day' by getting dressed up to enjoy a unique ballet experience with excerpts from the Nutcracker performed by Mass Ballet in the Cafetorium.
What an incredible opportunity and community partnership - that brings local performers who are young people themselves, to the preschool for this highly anticipated event.
"Preschoolers learn best by actively participating in activities," said BLOCKS Director, Rosie Alvarez. "The arts provide an important way for children to learn and express themselves. The BLOCKS PTO supports this effort by organizing creative arts experiences for our students together with local school and community resources. Our Fancy Day "spirit day" encourages children to "dress up" for the ballet and just enjoy the dance!"
Mass Ballet has performed excerpts from the Nutcracker for many years providing BLOCKS preschool students the opportunity to experience ballet firsthand. For some children, this is their first experience at the ballet and they are mesmerized by the music and dancing. Each child dances in their own way loving the music and movement!
There were two showings today - one at 9:45am and the other at 11:45am.
Families who wish to see the full performance in Worcester this weekend can get tickets here.
