FHS Robotics Team 9421X wins Design Award!

On Sunday two FHS robotics teams competed at Quinsigamond Community College's December Qualifier. They were part of a group of 45 middle and high school teams from the region. While the teams had rocky starts, they did better and better as the event progressed.

FHS Team 9421V ended qualifications ranked 24th and 9421X was ranked 31st. During alliance selection, 9421V picked 9421X as their partners. They went in as the 13th seed and handily beat the 4th seed in their first round of eliminations. But they then lost to an alliance between 875A (Pathfinder Vocational Technical) and 9791C (Walsh Middle School!) in the quarterfinals. The Walsh team did amazing, but was knocked out in the semifinals.

At the end of the day, 9421X was awarded the Design Award, which is presented to a team that "demonstrates an organized and professional approach to the design process, project and time management and team organization." This qualifies them for the Southern New England Regional Championship in March. See below for a photo of the team accepting the award! Congratulations team 9421X!

Their next competition is January 12th at Quinsigamond Community College.
