Framingham Public Schools Announces the New Director of Health and Wellness
June 30, 2023 (Framingham, MA) Dr. Robert Tremblay, Superintendent of Schools, is pleased to announce Shavonne Lord as the new Director of Health and Wellness, effective July 1, 2023.
Ms. Lord is currently an Assistant Principal in Lawrence Public Schools where she’s trained and worked for the last 13 years. In her current role, she created the vision for and supported the development of the mental health support systems, social emotional learning programming, and multi-tiered support systems across the building. Her role includes management and supervision of the mental health team, the school discipline team, and student support team. Shavonne has worked to provide mental health support, consultation, and training for staff over the last 10 years. Prior to her role as the Assistant Principal, she practiced as a School Psychologist in Lawrence Public Schools, performing all psycho-educational evaluations, providing individual and group counseling, consultation for staff and families, support for MTSS, and crisis intervention.
Ms. Lord’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree from Bowdoin College with a major in Psychology and minor in Education. She received her Masters Degree and then Education Specialist Degree in School Psychology from Tufts University.

About the Department of Health and Wellness
The Department of Health and Wellness provides a wide range of services to meet the academic, health, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of Framingham Public School students and families. Each school within the district is staffed with highly skilled Student Support Services personnel, including school counselors, social workers, school psychologists, and school nurses who work together as an interdisciplinary team to promote academic success and the overall wellbeing of students. Additionally, within this department there are a number of highly trained specialists who focus on district wide support. These include the district PBIS Coordinator, the Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) team, Attendance Officer and the McKinney-Vento Care Coordinator.
