Online Pre-Registration is Open for Framingham Public Schools Class of 2036!

Parents are invited to begin the registration process for the incoming Kindergarteners for the 2023-2024 school year.

November 30, 2022 (Framingham, MA) - Families who have a child or children that will be five-years-old by August 31, 2023 are invited to pre-register their incoming Kindergarteners online.

Located at the Farley Building, the Department of Student Registration has just released the timeline and summary of the Kindergarten registration process that all families must go through before a child can begin their academic career in Framingham Public Schools. 

  • Online pre-registration (Now - April 4, 2023)

  • Schedule a phone appointment with the Department of Student Registration (December 5, 2022 - April 4, 2023)

  • Attend Kindergarten Information Night (January 11, 2023 at 6pm)

  • School Tours (March 2023)

  • Submit School Choice form by April 6, 2023

  • Receive School Assignment by May 12, 2023

  • Kindergarten Orientation on June 7, 2023

All new incoming Kindergarteners must be registered - even if they have siblings currently attending Framingham Public Schools. 

PreK Expansion Program
Framingham residents who have a child or children who will be four years old by August 31, 2023 and that child is not enrolled in an early childhood program due to lack of access, resources, finances or opportunity, families are encouraged to take a moment to learn about Partnerships for Early Learners (PEL). Through this partnership, Framingham Public Schools is working with our BLOCKS Preschool, the MetroWest YMCA and Framingham State University - Centers for Early Childhood Education to offer PreK learning opportunities for Framingham-based families whose four-year-old children are not currently enrolled in an early childhood program due to lack of access, resources, finances or opportunity. The program runs from September 2023 - June 2024. Interested families are invited to submit the PreK Intake Form and will need to meet eligibility criteria for acceptance. If the interest exceeds the available openings, a lottery will take place to fill these PreK spots for children to attend before entering Kindergarten in September 2024.

As always, the Department of Student Registration welcomes parents to call or email the office with any questions. They are open year round and can be reached at the following times:

  • Mondays: 8:00am - 6:00pm
  • Tuesdays through Fridays: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
  • Closed on weekends and holidays
