Framingham Public Schools is Proud to Announce Ms. Ann Mariano as the Director of Information TechnologyDecember 18, 2019 (Framingham, MA): Dr. Robert Tremblay, Superintendent of Schools, is pleased to announce Ms. Ann Mariano as the Director of Information Technology for Framingham Public Schools, effective January 20, 2020.
Ms. Ann Mariano is currently a Director of Education Technology at Foster-Glocester Regional Schools, Rhode Island. Prior to that she was a Deputy Technology Director for the Schools and Town at Stoughton District. Ms. Mariano was also a Director of Technology for the Winsor School, the Ursuline Academy, and the Central Falls School District. In addition, Ms. Mariano was employed as a Network Manager/Editorial Systems for Cahners Publishing. Ms. Mariano graduated from Boston College with a Bachelors of Arts and earned her Masters in Information Technology from Worcester Poly Institute.
The interview process for this position was comprised of multiple parts, beginning with a staff and community survey. A Screening Committee, composed of members of the Technology Department, a member of the City’s Technology Department, Central Office staff, and members of the community gathered several times to refine interview questions, meet the candidates, and assist with identifying projects meant to illustrate the candidates' skills. Through this process, Ms. Mariano was promoted to a finalist. Ms. Mariano completed a demanding, task-based, six hour finalist interview that culminated in a presentation to Senior Leaders. Ms. Mariano’s expertise, her ability to marry personality and technical language, and her strong communication skills made her a favorite among all stakeholder groups with whom she met that day. Ms. Mariano is excited to become part of the Framingham community.
