Dr. Tremblay, Superintendent of Schools, invites all Framingham families to attend this event. “Please join our entire Framingham Public Schools family of students, caregivers, staff, building leaders, community members, and elected officials for our second annual back to school family event. This is the perfect opportunity to connect with friends and families in your school community or from across the city. As we all come together to celebrate the return to school and enjoy games and raffles prizes, the picnic is a powerful example of what it means for our community to engage with one another. About the Back to School Family Picnic
This event welcomes families back after summer break, encourages community connections, inspires and incentivizes family engagement, and provides access to internal FPS and external Community Resources. Each participating organization, school, and department will host a ‘station’ offering information, conversation, and an ‘activity’ that a family can interact with. Activities will be targeted to a preschool age group, a rising High School senior, or anyone in between.

This event comes to life through collaboration and support from the City of Framingham, especially from Parks and Recreation. The Back To School Family Picnic is free and open to all Framingham Public School students, families, staff, and community partners. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket and food, although there will be some food available for families to purchase.

Through generous donations from local businesses and service providers, various raffle items will be available for families to win. Families receive raffle tickets for free in exchange for their engagement.  The more families interact and engage, the more tickets they receive - the more chances they have to win prizes!  If/When their ticket number is called, they will be able to select the prize of their choice. Raffle ‘winners’ must be on-site to claim their prize.
