Framingham Public Schools is pleased to announce Ms. Cynthia Page as the new Principal of McCarthy Elementary School

Framingham, MA – November 30, 2018: Dr. Robert Tremblay, Superintendent of Schools, is pleased to announce that longtime school leader Cynthia Page, current Assistant Principal at Brophy Elementary School, will become the Principal at McCarthy Elementary School. This change will begin on Tuesday, December 4, 2018.

In a letter to families, Dr. Tremblay wrote, “Ms. Page, currently the Vice Principal at Brophy Elementary School, has proven turnaround experience, strong interpersonal skills, and has been an educator and leader in our district for more than 21 years. She has the necessary relationship-building skills to quickly establish rapport with staff, students, and families to provide effective leadership at McCarthy Elementary School.”

Dr. Tremblay went on to say, “I wish to thank Jean Nolan, Vice Principal of McCarthy Elementary School, for her steady leadership in the wake of Dr. Wu’s announcement and for the resilience of the McCarthy Elementary School staff as they continue to inspire our students everyday in their classrooms.”

About Cynthia Page
Ms. Cynthia Page earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from Skidmore College, a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Framingham State University and completed the Turnaround Leadership Academy, sponsored by Teachers21 in 2014. Ms Page has over 25 years of experience as an educator, educational leader and school administrator. She was a member of the Framingham Public Schools Music Department for 12 years and most recently, has served as the Vice Principal at the Brophy Elementary School. Ms Page believes that a successful school consists of a community that includes children, parents, teachers, administrators and all staff working together to create a caring, committed learning environment, one which will afford the best possible education for all of its children.  She is looking forward to her new role as the Principal of McCarthy Elementary School.

To make this transition as seamless as possible, Dr. Tremblay met personally with McCarthy Elementary School staff this afternoon and will be hosting a variety of events in the coming weeks where the school community can meet with Ms. Page and see, firsthand, just how engaging and prepared she is to lead this remarkable school community.

In an email to families, Ms Page said, “I am very excited about this professional opportunity but of course have mixed emotions about leaving Brophy and the many wonderful students and families with whom I have had the pleasure of working. Brophy is a special place, a community of caring and committed educators and parents. I have always been so appreciative and thankful to be a part of this wonderful community…. Please know, that  as I look forward to my new role, I will always carry a part of Brophy School with me.”

Brophy Elementary School is prepared to meet the challenge of finding a replacement for Ms. Page and the Assistant Principal position will be posted immediately. Families were invited to reach out to Principal Frank Rothwell if they have any questions.
