Nonprofit Operation Warm to Provide Brand New Coats to Entire Framingham Elementary School

With support from Jewish Family Service of Metrowest, Operation Warm will be providing winter coats to every student at Brophy Elementary School

October 12, 2018 (Framingham, MA) - We are thrilled to announce that Brophy Elementary School has been selected by Operation Warm, a national nonprofit, to participate in their “More Than A Coat” program! With support from Jewish Family Service of Metrowest (JFS), each and every student at Brophy will be receiving a new winter coat.

“We are so appreciative and thankful for this outpouring of generosity,” said Cynthia Page, Vice Principal of Brophy Elementary School. “Not only will our students be kept warm travelling to and from Brophy school each day, they will know they are a part of a larger, kind, caring and supportive community.”

On Monday, October 15, 2018, volunteers from Operation Warm and Jewish Family Service of Metrowest will distribute a coat to every Brophy Elementary School student. Classes will be called down to the gymnasium where volunteers will help students choose a brand new coat.

Media is welcome to attend.

“Improving social and health equity is at the forefront of every effort and impact committed by Jewish Family Service of Metrowest,” said Lino Covarrubias, Chief Operating Officer, JFS. “Ensuring no child in elementary school is left behind has always and will continue to be a top priority for the social justice work JFS embarks on. JFS is very excited to partner with Operation Warm and to work alongside other volunteers to provide winter coats for the students of the Brophy Elementary School in Framingham.”

Operation Warm provides warmth, confidence, and hope to children in need through the gift of brand new winter coats. They believe a brand new coat is more than a coat. Through serving millions of children in need across North America, Operation Warm has seen that a brand new coat offers a child physical and emotional warmth, confidence to socialize and succeed, and hope of a brighter future.

“The gift of a brand new coat will ensure that children in Framingham have a boost of confidence and support this winter,” said Grace Sica, Vice President, Corporate Partnerships, Operation Warm. “Our partners and volunteers not only support the community with their donation, but also with their time to gift the coats directly to each child.”
