What is the IB PYP Exhibition?

  • At International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB PYP) schools around the world, students in 5th grade do a final inquiry project called the PYP Exhibition where they research and take action to share what they learn with their community.

What is the role of a mentor?

  • Facilitate five 30 minute meetings with your group of 3-5 students

  • Encourage and support students by:

    • asking questions to promote thinking and reflection

    • helping with research and self-management skills

    • clarifying difficult information as needed

    • suggesting ways students can take action in our community

    • giving feedback to help students reflect on their learning and their next steps

When will the help of a mentor be needed?

  • Mentors will meet once a week for 30 minutes for the five weeks leading up the Exhibition Day on Thursday June 8th

    • Preferred days & times:

      • May 4, May 11, May 18, May 25, June 1

      • Time options (same each week): 10:30-11:00 or 11:00-11:30

    • If you are interested in mentoring but cannot meet on the preferred days & times, we may be able to coordinate the meetings at a different day or time
