Framingham Summer Scene’s Youth Theater Workshop Presents A One-Time Performance of “Once on This Island, Jr.”

The show takes place on Friday July 27th at 7pm and features students from Framingham Public Schools

July 23, 2018 - Framingham, MA:  Framingham Summer Scene's Youth Theater Workshop will be presenting "Once on This Island, Jr." on Friday, July 27 at 7pm at the Fuller Middle School, 31 Flagg Drive.

“Once on This Island” unfolds as a group of storytellers, who are caught in a storm, retell the story of TiMoune, a simple peasant girl who falls in love with a rich boy from the other side of the island.

Students entering grades K-8 from Dunning, McCarthy, Potter Road, Brophy, King, Hemenway, Wilson & Stapleton Elementary Schools along with Walsh & Cameron Middle Schools have been taking classes in voice, dance, acting, auditioning, masks, stage crafts as well as rehearsing for their full-scale production.

“This is Framingham Youth Theater’s first summer and we have had a blast! The kids have impressed us everyday," said Teri Shea, Youth Theater Camp Director. "They work hard no matter what we ask of them.  They painted the sets, designed masks, learned their lines and dances all with the same enthusiasm and excitement.  It has been a pleasure to get to know them and work with them on my favorite show, “Once on This Island, Jr.”

Tickets are available at the theater on Friday, July 27 at 6:30.  Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for anyone under 18.
