Framingham, MA – July 16, 2018: Framingham Public Schools recently announced the appointment of Joseph Corazzini as the Assistant Superintendent of Equity, Diversity, and Community Engagement. He is excited to continue his work with the Department of Community Resource Development (CRD) as well as, overseeing several other departments and initiatives. Under his direction, the Explorers Program continues to expand across the district and with expansion comes change. Please see below for a breakdown of personnel changes within the Department of CRD.
Community Resource Development (CRD)
The Department of Community Resource Development was established in 1995 with a $25,000 grant from the Department of Health and Human Services. Since the original School-Linked Service grant, many initiatives have been designed, implemented and sustained in the community and the schools.
Today the Department of Community Resource Development continues to build robust and sustainable out of school time (OST) programming across the district. In addition to OST, the Department of CRD serves as bridge builders for the District - working with higher education, corporate, and community partners to develop innovative programming and initiatives aimed at expanding and supporting student learning.
The Department of Community Resource Development welcomes the appointment of Tiffany Lillie to the Director of Community Resource Development. In her 2 years within the district Tiffany has led the quality enhancement and growth of out of school time programs.

Two New OST Managers
To support the enhancement and continued growth of programs the Department of CRD has been restructured and will now employ two new Out of School Time (OST) Manager positions. The managers will oversee program coordinators and provide ongoing supervision and support for all out of school time programs.
Shannon O’Malley who has led the development of the King program, will be the new Manager of Elementary Out of School Time Programs where she will work hand in hand with Coordinators to ensure build high quality programming across the district.

Casey Bell will be the new Manager of Secondary Out of School Time Programs.
“Working as a Program Coordinator at Brophy Elementary School has given me an opportunity to grow, create, and collaborate. I am fortunate to have worked with such a wonderful community. This new position is an exciting challenge that will bring new partnerships and opportunity.” - Casey Bell
Barbieri Elementary School – Welcome to Explorers Family
Barbieri Elementary School will be joining the Explorers Program family this fall! Ruth Newhouse, the new Program Coordinator, brings a wealth of experience from her work with the Vincente Aleixandre Primary School located in Valladolid, Spain as well as her experience working as a long-term substitute teacher here in Framingham. She holds an AA in Spanish, BA in Psychology and MS in Curriculum & Instruction.
Woodrow Wilson Elementary School – New OST Coordinator
Louise Baptista has held a variety of positions within CRD throughout the past 3+ years and also served as interim coordinator last school year. She has been promoted to OST Coordinator for the Woodrow Wilson Elementary School Explorers Program.
Although, these moves leave vacancies in the Coordinator positions for King and Brophy Elementary Schools, this energized group is confident they will find highly qualified staff to positively represent the values and culture that exist in Framingham. Parents have been encouraged to be a part of the hiring process and if anyone is interested in serving on the Coordinator Search Committee, they can reach out to Joseph Corazzini.
