Congratulations to Barbieri Elementary School 5th Grader Andrea Urbano for winning the Massachusetts Medical Society and Alliance's Anti-Tobacco Poster Contest for 2018!
Sponsored by the Massachusetts Medical Society Committee on Student Health and Sports Medicine and the MMS Alliance, this contest encouraged children in grades 1-6 to create an original poster that ties in with the theme for his or her grade level.
Themes:
Grades 1 & 2: Tobacco is Bad for Your Body
Grades 3 & 4: Tobacco Affects Other People
Grades 5 & 6: Why I Won't Start Smoking.
Each child was instructed to design his or her poster using crayons, colored pencils, or markers. Posters were judged on originality, artistic value, and how well it relates to the theme. There were 12 winners chosen from thousands of entries across the state!
All Framingham entries were managed and submitted by Michelle Kinsella, Elementary School Health Educator. Kudos to Ms. Kinsella and Andrea!
