FPS Leads Language Access Initiative
FPS Promotes and Leads the Creation of the First Association of Language Access Leaders in Education in Massachusetts
After receiving a multitude of meeting and consultation requests from other public school districts and institutions statewide and nationally, Framingham Public Schools' Manager of Translation & Interpreting Services, Bernardo Llorente, launched an initiative which is now named the Association of Language Access Leaders in Education in Massachusetts.
Mr. Llorente spent this past summer visiting and meeting with various language champions in education in Massachusetts to assemble a strong team to begin this journey. The heads of translation, interpretation and language services from Holyoke, Salem, Springfield, Milford, Worcester and Framingham Public Schools, plus a representative from the Willie Ross School for the Deaf will have their first joint session on September 30, which interestingly is also International Translation Day.
