Welcome to our Room!
Welcome to Room 12, Dawn and Linda’s Room! We are thrilled to have your child as a part of our classroom this year. This is my first year teaching at BLOCKS preschool, but my 12th year working with preschool students. When I’m not at school, I can be found spending time with my newly adopted cat, Charlotte. I also enjoy spending time outside, running, and eating Italian food. Linda, my assistant, is a veteran at BLOCKS and we are looking forward to working together, providing your child with a fun and positive preschool experience.
Our primary goals for your child are:
Social/Emotional: Learning to understand and manage emotions, navigating and encouraging social interactions with peers, increasing positive problem solving skills, and being a kind, respectful friend to all.
Literacy: Promoting pre-literacy skills such as: phonemic awareness, print awareness, letter identification, and vocabulary. We will provide a literacy rich environment full of books, signs, and labels to enhance your child’s pre-literacy learning.
Exploration: Learning about nature and science, experimenting with art and different textures, music and dance, and learning about our similarities, differences, likes, and dislikes.
We value your child and want them to feel special each day! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your child’s life. We look forward to the year ahead.
