Mr. Jose Duarte, Principal

I started my career as a reading teacher at the Dearborn Middle School in Boston, Ma. where I taught for six years before becoming an assistant principal for four years at the Umana/Barnes Middle School in East Boston, MA.  In 1996 I was appointed principal of the Grover Cleveland Middle School, also in Boston, Ma, where in collaboration with the staff we developed and implemented a successful Comprehensive School Plan that resulted in the school being recognized as one of the top ten most improved schools in the state. After four years at the Grover Cleveland I was assigned as the Headmaster of The English High School in Jamaica Plans, MA, the oldest public school in the United States. During my nine year tenure, The English High became a Boston Pilot School, and I served as the Cluster Leader for Cluster Six, overseeing a network of 16 Boston Public Schools. I returned to the Dearborn in 2010 and is led the transformation of the Dearborn into the Dearborn STEM Early College Academy, a STEM (Science, Technology, Math, and Engineering) serving students in grades 6 to 12, in partnership with the community and Northeastern University, MA. During the school year 2015-2016 I served as the principal of the John W. McCormack Middle School after serving as an Operational Leader supporting 15 schools in the Boston Public School.

I am pleased to have made the move to the Framingham Public Schools and expect to have a long and successful tenure here working collaboratively with the staff and families of the Fuller Middle School.

Mr. Michael Stevens, Vice Principal

After working as a materials development engineer for several years in the UK, I was inspired to move into education as a resut of spending two years living and working in Nigeria.  I obtained a Masters degree in technology education from Eastern Michigan University and then taught Tech Ed in Hazel Park, Michigan for three years.  A move to Massachusetts led to a further 20 years of teaching Tech Ed in Maynard at both the high school and middle school, with particular emphasis on teaching engineering skills and computer applications.

A desire to move into educational leadership brought forth my next move, taking on my current position as vice-principal here at Fuller Middle School.
