King School Social Worker
Hi, my name is Melanie Collura and I am the school social worker at King Elementary. As some of you know, I was part-time last school year so I am thrilled to be joining the team full-time for my second year at Framingham Public Schools. I am excited to continue to be a part of the King community and work closely with students and their families to help support any and all social, emotional and behavioral needs.
A little bit about my background; I received my undergraduate degree at UMass Amherst and my Master’s Degree from Simmons College in Social Work with a specialization in Trauma and Interpersonal Violence. Before coming to King, I spent the last several years working as a clinical social worker providing therapy for children and families at an outpatient trauma clinic. I also have prior experience working in an elementary school in Needham, MA and many years at a specialized foster care agency with high risk children and adolescents. When not at King, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our dog Mac, reading, working out, being active whether through biking, walking trails and exploring nature, cooking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
I have an open door policy and am here to not only work with your children but to help parents support their children’s social emotional needs as well as connect families to community resources.
Feel free to contact me to discuss any needs or concerns at firstname.lastname@example.org or 508-782-7201.
