Welcome to my classroom!
Greetings to all of my new students and families! Welcome to 2016-2017 at Fuller Middle School - it is going to be a fantastic year of math learning!
Our 8th grade, Integrated Algebra students will begin the year with a unit that explores the laws of exponents and their applications to the real world. 6th grade math students will begin the year by deepening their understanding of ratios and relationships between quantities.
We will be increasingly moving toward the "workshop" model as a means to strengthen personalized learning and to develop students' ability to dive deeper into the math. This model includes mini-lessons of direct instruction followed by intensive time for student collaboration and differentiated learning.
Stay tuned to this page for upcoming information on this year's Fuller Falcon Math Club!
It will be my honor, this year, to serve our Fuller Middle School community as the Mathematics Department Head as well as to teach one 6th grade and one 8th grade math class.
As department head, it is my responsibility to ensure that Fuller's math instruction:
* meets the needs of each student (personalized learning)
* challenges each student at the appropriate level (rigor)
* uses student data to inform next steps toward each student's success
* aligns with school and district goals
You may contact me via email: firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling
I look forward to working with you, throughout the year.
