Welcome to Room 25!

  •

Hi! My name is Mrs. Strom and I am your Kindergarten teacher! I hope you are enjoying your summer with lots of fun activities.  I have been enjoying my summer with my family who you will hear all about throughout the year.  My husband Terry and I have two little boys, Lincoln and Quentin and a crazy dog named Roscoe who causes all kinds of mischief. We have been enjoying some time camping, playing at parks, and the beach and Lincoln, Quentin and I took a big trip to Georgia to visit my sister who is a traveling nurse. We had a lot of fun but boy was it exhausting! I can’t wait to tell you more about it when I meet you.

I am so excited to see you and get our school year started soon! Kindergarten is a very exciting place where we will be making all kinds of new friends, learning our numbers, letters, letter sounds and we will even begin to read! You and your parents won’t even believe the amount of fun and learning you are going to have this year in our room.

While I am very excited to meet you, I can sometimes get a little nervous about starting a new year and leaving my family.  If you’re feeling the same, you should see if you can read the book “The Kissing Hand” by Audrey Penn and perhaps find a nice picture of you and your family to put in a safe place in your backpack to look at if you find yourself missing them on the first day.  This trick always helps me feel a little better so I thought I would share it with you.

I hope you are as excited as I am and can come to school on Wednesday, August 28th for our Kindergarten Orientation at 10 O’Clock. I will be there waiting for you with a big, giant smile!  I’ll see you soon, but until then, enjoy the rest of your summer!

                                                       Sincerely,

                                                       Mrs. Strom
