Welcome to our class!
Room 9
-
Hi! My name is Patti Aiello, and I am excited to welcome your child (and you!) to room #9 at BLOCKS (green wing).
I work at BLOCKS full time. In the mornings I teach, and in the afternoons I am the Preschool Special Education Department Head, with an office in another area of the school. My assistant is Mable Su. This will be our first year working together! J
I believe that young children learn best through play. Play is a child’s context for learning. Through carefully chosen materials and experiences, your child will develop social skills, fine and gross motor, math, science, pre-literacy, and group participation abilities!
My main goals for the students in my classroom are:
- to promote social and emotional development - It is important that your child learn to positively interact with peers and adults, manage their emotions, build independence and confidence, and learn appropriate ways to resolve conflicts.
- to enjoy great literature together! I love to read aloud to children, and there are endless books to explore and enjoy! I almost always use a book as my introduction to a lesson or activity.
I have been teaching within the Framingham Public School system since December 1987, working with children in preschool through grade 6. I have a Master’s degree in Education, and am certified in the areas of Teacher of Young Children with Special Needs (ages 3-7), Early Childhood Education (grades K-3) and Moderate Special Education (grades Prek-9). I have two adult children of my own.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy travel, family activities, exercise, baking, and rowing! I am on a competitive sweep rowing team, and row a couple of days before coming to work!
Here’s looking to a great 2020-2021 school year!
