The Department of Safety and Security is responsible for the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors while on Framingham Public Schools' property. The department is managed by Scott Penrod, the Director of Safety and Security, who works closely with all FPS Departments, the Framingham Police and Fire Departments.
Two Police Officers are assigned to Framingham High School and One Police Officer supports the District as School Resource Officers or SROs. They also respond to the non-emergency needs of the schools. Licensed School Safety Officers also monitor fire, intrusion and closed circuit digital video cameras as well as patrol the district after hours checking for hazards.
