Sello de alfabetización en dos idiomas - Selo de letramento em dois idiomas
In June 2020, Framingham Public Schools is proudly awarding the State Seal of Biliteracy and Language Opportunity Coalition Biliteracy Awards to students in grades 5, 8, and 12, who have made significant steps towards developing biliteracy skills and/or attained functional proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in two or more languages.
These awards promote biliteracy as an asset and rewards students’ hard work and dedication to becoming bilingual and biliterate world citizens.
Why FPS offers students this opportunity?
- value bilingualism and biliteracy.
- honor the skills our students attain and encourage them to continue their studies throughout their schooling (and beyond!)
- strengthen intergroup relationships and honoring the multiple cultures and languages in a community.
- prepare students with vital 21st century skills that will benefit them in the labor market and the global society.
If you are interested in participating in the opportunity, please complete this commitment to participate by January 7th, 2019. If the deadline has passed, please contact the Office of Bilingual Education at 508-626-9171. The form is available in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
The Statement of Bilingualism (in English and the Partner Language) and completed Community Service Logs are due by April 1st, 2020.
There will be a celebration organized in early May for the award recipients and participants.
If you have any questions, please contact Gen Grieci or Evanggelia Diamantopoulos in the Office of Bilingual Education at 508-626-9171 and/or firstname.lastname@example.org.
