There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available to support the day-of logistics for this event. See below for the positions and if you're interested in volunteering, please complete this Sign-up Genius Form to commit to a volunteer position. Someone will be in touch with you shortly!
Volunteer Coordinator (1), 1:30pm - 7:30pm: This person sits at Registration, greets and places Volunteers, answers questions, and ensures everyone has a job and that all jobs are covered.
Volunteer Coordinator Assistant (2), 1:30pm - 7:30pm: These helpful people can help the Volunteer Coordinator screen, train and assign volunteers and make sure everyone is where they are supposed to be. These people will move volunteers around as needed.
Registration (12), 3:30pm - 6:30pm: Responsible for checking in families who registered on Eventbrite and Community Partners/Schools/Departments. Two check-in areas will each have the Eventbrite List AND the Community Partner List which will be organized alphabetically in thirds: (A-G) (H-P) (Q-Z). This will cut down on lines to register. Pre-registered = 2 raffle tickets, everyone else gets 1 ticket upon entry.
Raffle Volunteers (3-6), 4:00pm - 6:30pm: Help guide families on where to put tickets and the process; assist Dr. Tremblay with pulling the tickets and nunber announcements; writing ticket numbers on the board; checking raffle tickets to confirm winners; photo of winner with prize; prize distribution; watch over raffle items; Two - Three volunteers walk around to Community Partner tables to replenish their ticket stash to be provided to attendees.
Engagers/Greeters (4-8), 4:00pm - 6:30pm: Create a welcoming environment. Responsible for escorting Community Partners to their tables as well escorting families to desired location, and handing out programs
First Aid Volunteer (1-2), 4:15 - 6:30pm: Specialized person should be trained and certified in CPR and first aid to assist if needed.
Photographers (3-5), 4:00pm - 6:30pm: Capture engagement at tables, the performances, the speaking program, the raffle drawings and prize winners, activities, and the environment. If you take direct images of children, be sure to ask their parent / guardian prior to taking the photograph.
Community Partner and VIP Parking Assistants (12), 1:30pm - 6:30pm:
- Responsible for checking in VIP Guests and Community Partners (School Staff, Local Organizations, Department Staff) at the parking lot entrance. The Parking Assistant should ask which organization the driver/car from and check them off on the list. Each Community Partner gets one parking spot.
- VIP’s also need to be documented on a separate sheet which will be given to Event Staff so those people can be recognized during the speaking program.
Floaters (10), 4:00pm - 7:00pm: Assist Community Partners with games, bathroom breaks, etc.
