Local organizations who offer services and support to Framingham families are invited to host a table activity at our 2019 Back to School Family Picnic. In an effort to encourage community connections and provide access to internal FPS and external Community Resources, Framingham Public Schools is offering a great opportunity for you to meet and interact with FPS families, educate the public about your services, and participate in a large, exciting community event. It's free for all families and Community Partners and Food Trucks.

Community Resource Partners + Activations
In an effort to introduce FPS families to local resources within the community, we are inviting a variety of local organizations to be present at the Picnic. Each organization will host a ‘station’ offering information, conversation, and an ‘activity’ that a family can interact with. Activities can be targeted to a preschool age group, a rising High School senior, or anyone in between. Activity examples include:
Community Partners can also host a Functional Activity which is an interactive experience that is tied specifically to their service. For example, a driving school may have DUI Goggles or the FPS Food Service Department may be promoting what they do for the District and our kids, while encouraging Free / Reduced Lunch applications which is important to many families.
Exciting Raffles - Incentivizing Family and Community Engagement
Through generous donations from local businesses and service providers, various raffle items will be available for families to win. Families receive raffle tickets for free in exchange for their engagement. The more families interact and engage with you, the more tickets they receive - the more chances they have to win prizes! All raffle tickets and prizes are free, but a ‘winner’ must be on-site to claim their prize. If/When their ticket number is called, they will be able to select the prize of their choice.
Given that this event is a picnic and it's important that our families be able to attend - we must have food available! Families are encouraged to bring their own food and a blanket or can choose to purchase from what is available on site.
