IMPORTANT UPDATE: Please note the time change for the event. It was originally advertised as 4:30pm - 7:00pm. Framingham’s risk level for EEE has been raised from low to HIGH, due to a human EEE case in Grafton. The state Massachusetts Department of Public Health provided the Framingham Health Department with guidelines that include the curtailment of outdoor activities starting from dusk. As such, all outdoor activities should end no later than 7:30 pm. This includes event clean-up and therefore our event will run from 4:30pm - 6:30pm.
For outdoor activities before 7:30 pm, we strongly recommend the use of protective clothing and appropriate insect repellent for exposed skin. The outdoor activity curtailment advisory is in effect until the end of the mosquito season, which is after a hard frost (~28F). See material in English, Spanish, and Portuguese from the City of Framingham and the Department of Public Health.Framingham Public Schools (FPS) is hosting its second Back To School Family Picnic. This event is free and open to all Framingham Public School students, families, staff, and community partners.
This gathering serves many purposes, including: welcoming families back after summer break, encouraging community connections, inspiring family engagement, and providing access to internal FPS and external Community Resources.

Bowditch FieldCommunity Resource Partners + Activations
In an effort to introduce our FPS families to local resources within the community, we are inviting a variety of local organizations to be present at the Picnic. Each organization, school, and department will host a ‘station’ offering information, conversation, and an ‘activity’ that a family can interact with. Activities can be targeted to a preschool age group, a rising High School senior, or anyone in between. Activity examples include:

Exciting Raffles - Incentivizing Family and Community Engagement
Through generous donations from local businesses and service providers, various raffle items will be available for families to win. Families receive raffle tickets for free in exchange for their engagement. The more families interact and engage, the more tickets they receive - the more chances they have to win prizes! All raffle tickets and prizes are free, but a ‘winner’ must be on-site to claim their prize. If/When their ticket number is called, they will be able to select the prize of their choice.Food
Given that this event is a picnic and it's important that our families be able to attend - we must have food available! Families are encouraged to bring their own food and a blanket or can choose to purchase from what is available on site.Volunteer
