What is this 'Friendly Wager' and how will it work?
The Potter Road community is ready to go - again!
This past winter, students and staff at Potter Road were all-in with a couple friendly wagers with some opposing sports fans from other Elementary Schools across the country. During the AFC Championships they went head-to-head with Red Bridge Elementary School in Kansas City and for the Superbowl, they took on their counterparts from Hicks Canyon Elementary School in Irvine, California (south of Los Angeles). We all know how that ended up and fans from KC and Irvine were sporting Patriots colors following the wins!
Well, Potter Road has another friendly wager on sports. This time--it's with McKelvey Elementary School in St. Louis, Missouri as the Bruins/St. Louis Blues face off in the Stanley Cup Finals. Although school officially ended for McKelvey Elementary on May 24th, the enthusiastic principal, Kim Cohen, was so excited about this she reached out to the administrator of the summer school program to get them involved. :-)
Bottom line: Potter had a Boston Bruins Pride Day on Friday, May 24th. Students and staff are being asked to dress in black and gold as they continute to cheer on the B's in their quest for the Stanley Cup! If the B's win the series, our friends in St. Louis will wear black and gold. If the Blues win, we wear blue and yellow.Follow Potter Road School on Twitter (@PotterRdSchool) and Instagram (@potterroad) to see our school community rocking our Boston Bruins gear throughout Potter Road while our Missouri friends will have the blue and yellow of the Blues throughout their building.May the best team win! Thanks,Principal, Larry Wolpe
