Degrees and Certifications:
Hi! My name is Mrs. Hammill and I am so excited to be your teacher this year! I was born here in Framingham and grew up in the Metrowest. Currently, I live here in town with my husband and two little boys.
I have taught fourth grade in Framingham for 15 years. I love being both a community member and teacher in Framingham. I feel very connected to my students and love to help inspire them in their educational journey.
In my spare time, my sons and I like to play superheroes, name and watch every construction vehicle on the planet, and READ! :) My son Michael's favorite book is any Dogman book and Charlie's favorite book is Dragons Love Tacos. This summer, Michael and I read lots of great books like My Father's Dragon and The Wild Robot. When I was growing up I was an avid reader, too. Some of my childhood favorites were Sideways Stories from Wayside School, True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle, The Witch of Blackbird Pond, and The Cay. In middle school I fell in love with The Outsiders. And my favorite book in high school was A Prayer for Owen Meany. Books have always inspired me throughout the years, and I enjoy passing on a love of reading to my kids and students! Get ready for some amazing read-aloud books this year - I LOVE to read books that I know fourth graders LOVE. We will laugh together, be shocked together, think deeply together, and sometimes, even cry together while reading. You will discover that reading a book is an amazing journey of emotions!
I am looking forward to a fun and engaging year with all of you!
