MyHR Recommendations

  • Contact the plans or your doctors to find out if your doctors participate in your plan. Specify the plan’s full name, such as “Delta Dental High” or “Delta Dental Low”.

Check on deductible and coverage that affect what you pay when you get any services.

Most plans apply a limit on benefits expenditures per the calendar year (or per lifetime, in the case of orthodontic benefits). Once this calendar-year limit is reached, no additional services will be covered until the following year.

    • Once you choose a plan, you cannot change it during the year, unless you have a qualifying status change or move out of the plan’s service area or are retiring and become eligible for Medicare. If your doctor leaves your plan, you must find a new participating provider in your chosen plan.
    • Annual open enrollment for Dental Insurance happens during the month of April of each year.
