Welcome to Woodrow Wilson School
Mrs. MacQueen Mrs. Miller Mr. Del Prete
Welcome to Team 222
In our fifth grade class we love to learn and have fun.We study American history and the science of weather, animals and energy. We also read many different genres of books and write personal narratives and essays. In addition, we study non-fiction and poetry. Our job in this classroom is to get you prepared for middle school…but enough about what we learn, let’s talk about HOW we learn it.
In our classroom you should expect to enter an environment that is peaceful, colorful and full of opportunities. We sometimes break out into song, act out history or play game shows to review our learning. We use math manipulatives, do science experiments with plants and celebrate our writing by sharing our work as authors.
We also are in charge of recycling for the second floor, have a Reading Buddy partnership with Mrs. Baptista’s second grade class and have a fish tank in our classroom. The fish tank gurgles merrily and adds a soothing background for our work.
Mrs. Miller is an organized and thoughtful teacher who likes to create our Jeopardy review games. She enjoys teaching math and writing. She is always on the lookout for a great book to share with the class in order to highlight reading strategies. She has a laugh that carries across the classroom and makes others want to laugh with her.
Mr. Del Prete is our fifth grade teaching assistant.
Mrs. MacQueen is disorganized and a bit forgetful. She’s lucky Mrs. Miller usually knows where her lost stuff has gone. She also helps her keep track of time by reminding her it’s time for lunch (otherwise she would just keep on teaching!) Mrs. MacQueen loves to sing and dance, but she doesn’t do either very well. That doesn’t stop her, though.Be warned, fifth graders… she is rarely embarrassed by much.
So, if you are looking for a classroom that is alive with learning, then Team 222 is the place for you!
