Principal's Message
Hello and welcome to the Woodrow Wilson
Website.We are a Global Studies
Community School,
where “Every Child Is A Star” and is celebrated throughout his/ her educational
career at this school.
Our school has a warm, friendly, and exciting learning environment,
and is dedicated to academic excellence and helping students develop into
productive citizens in their school and home communities. Our building is a fully air-conditioned,
state-of-the-art facility that features technology as a core component of instruction. We are committed to providing each student
with a challenging, well-rounded educational experience. It is one that encourages and capitalizes on
the development of higher level thinking skills.
The Global Studies component of our school theme was created
in conjunction with the Center for Global Studies at Framingham State
College. Our goal is to develop an
awareness and appreciation of the diversity of today’s world in each student
and create an environment reflective of our student population. We also encourage students to learn from and
appreciate the differences among their peers, the staff, and the school
community.The Community School
part of our theme enables us to offer full-day kindergarten, highly structured
enrichment activities, and school-based and operated extended-day options. We also have a designated space in our
building called the Parent
Center. This space is where parents are able to
gather to talk about child rearing, receive resource materials, and support
each other. We also provide many opportunities for community use of our
building.
We are committed to providing children with a rigorous,
first rate education.Mastery of basic
skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic are emphasized. These goals are
encompassed in our unwavering commitment to ensure positive character
development in all of our students.Through these efforts, we will prepare students to become functioning
and productive citizens in our greater society. We are also very pleased to house a strand of the Framingham Public
School System’s Portuguese Bilingual/Sheltered English Program, a school-wide
Inclusion Program, and various Special Educations programs. These programs allow us to meet the needs of
a diverse student population.
This is just a small snap-shot of the Woodrow Wilson
School and who we are. To
know us a little better, we invite you to come and visit and experience our
school in action. We hope to see you
soon.
Peace!!
