Woodrow Wilson Music

Mr. Coleman and  Ms. Gartman Welcome You

We do a variety of activities, focusing on singing, movement, playing, and reading music notation.

Basic fundamentals such as pitch recognition, and basic rhythm reading are introduced in grades K, and 1, and are expanded to include more complex musical concepts in grades 2 through 5. We integrate music lesson concepts and classroom topics when possible, providing an extension of materials and experiences for the children.  Recorder playing begins in grade 3, and reading and playing in ORFF settings, further expands the students abilities, to read and comprehend basic musical concepts.

Included below are some other great sites for students to explore and learn some basic musical concepts, as well as playing really fun musical games!

We also have a great music keyboard lab that allows students to utilize technology in learning musical concepts.
