What is visual acuity?
"The eye's ability to distinguish object details and shape, using the smallest identifiable object that can be seen at a specified distance."

Massachusetts Department of Ed provides the state definition of vision impairment. Also check Office of Health and Human Services, this site is full of linked resources and information regarding healthy vision, vision impairment, legal blindness and deafblindness.

Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) is a term used to describe visual impairment that occurs because of brain damage.
