Role of Professionals
Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI)
Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS)
- trained to meet the educational needs of students who are visually impaired to totally blind;
- Provides evaluations, recommendations, consultation;
- Travels throughout the entire district;
- Teaches such skills as compensatory, visual efficiency, technology and self-advocacy;
- Assists with material and environmental adaptations;
- Provides direct and indirect services as per Framingham Vision Services Protocol
