Important Dates & News for February
- 13 Colonies Regional Team projects are in progress.
- The Wax Museum is Wed. March 14th at 6:00 pm. Packet went home Fri. 2/3. Parents, please monitor your child's work during this long-term project.
WEATHER NEWS FOR ROOM 34
Welcome to the world of weather TEAM 34! You will be studying weather with Mrs. Hoehlein until early March. Please notice how the weather changes each day, even on the weekends. I will use this space to post reminders and keep you updated of important information or ideas that we are learning. Please keep your GREEN weather folder neat and orderly. I will collect it at the end of the session as part of your final grade.

HOMEWORK EXPECTATIONSHomework is expected to demonstrate good effort, neatness and most importantly, be turned in on time. First & last name is required on all papers. Nightly assignments to be expected are Math & Writer's Notebook. A weekly assignment is a detailed Reader's Notebook letter.

MUST have your biography book(s) and note-taking sheets
- Reading/research on historical figure expected nightly.
- Use note-taking "data" sheets given out Fri. 2/3.
- Review rubric expectations given out Fri. 2/3
Writing Personal Essay Celebration is now Friday. Be prepared!
Most students have completed their essays. The date was extended to help those who needed more time. At home work is expected this week for those students.
- Clear topic sentences, strong evidence, lead, closing Use checklist(click).
- Please have your child read his/her draft aloud. Is it convincing??
- Essays have been worked on for 5 weeks in the classroom.
Wordly Wise Completed packet turned in. QUIZ is Fri.
Math Division is our new area of study
- Chapter 8: Lesson 2 P63.
- Secret to success: division is really "UN-MULTIPLICATION."
Social Studies 13 Colonies Group Project underway
- Expect a Quiz on the 13 Colonies next Thurs.
REMINDER: Dress appropriately for the weather PLEASE.
