Room 2 Helpful Classroom Information

Backpack/School bags:

Your child will be bringing home many projects and papers. If you send your child with a backpack/schoolbag on a daily basis, items will be more likely to make it home safely.

Labels:

Please label everything that your child brings to school. This includes: jackets, extra clothes, lunch boxes and backpacks.

School Note Folder:

A folder will come home with your child every Friday. In this folder will be important school and class information. Please return the folder every Monday.

Rest Time:

Each afternoon we will have rest time. Please send a blanket or towel for your child to use. Please put it in a labeled bag to be hung with his/her backpack. All bags will go home on Fridays so blankets can be washed. Please return on Mondays.

Birthdays:

If your child would like to celebrate his/her birthday during snack time, please send in a special snack for that class that is easy to pass out. Also check with me to see if there are any allergies.

Snack:

Children should bring in a snack everyday. Healthy and simple

foods as well as drinks are encouraged. Please no nuts.

 Lunch:

Lunch may be brought in from home or purchased in the cafeteria. Have your child bring in his/her money in a labeled (name and room number) Ziploc baggie. A monthly menu will be sent home at the beginning of each month. Also, please make sure to separate lunch from snack. It helps if your child knows which is snack and which is lunch.

Book Order Forms:

Every month you will have an opportunity to buy books from Scholastic. If you wish to purchase books you must use a check not cash.

Things from home:

Children should not be bringing in toys from home. Items get easily misplaced and "lost" in the classroom. We have plenty of things for the children to play with.

 Communication:

A weekly classroom newsletter will go home in the Friday folder. It will include information on weekly activities and upcoming events. Newsletters will also be posted on our classroom website.
