SOME FURTHER INFORMATION ABOUT THE
BRAINSTORMERS' CLUB
Welcome to the 18th year of the Potter Road School's Brainstormers' Club! We are a division of the Future Problem Solving International Program – an organized network of clubs based upon the notion of "higher level creative and critical thinking skills."
The Framingham coaches have been trained by the SAGE Department and are overseen by the Massachusetts Future Problem Solving Program.
This is a year-long program, open to all 4th and 5th grade students. Teams of four students learn a six-step problem solving process which is then used to solve social and scientific problems set in the future.
At regular intervals, our teams mail their work to evaluators (generally teachers and principals from schools that are participating in the program) who review the submissions and return them with suggestions.
The mission of the Brainstormers' Club is to have a safe, happy and stress-free environment for Potter Road School students to attend on Thursday mornings, where they can be academically enriched and creatively stimulated. Your child's oral and writing communication skills will be improved through this program. Computer research skills will also be further enhanced.
If you have any questions please either call or email Beverly Hugo at (508) 877-7575, or bevhugo@rcn.com.
