Students
Our student body is rich in social, ethnic and socioeconomic diversity. Approximately 10% of Framingham High School students speak a first language other than English. Fifty different languages are spoken and native countries from all over the world are represented. Our students have been extremely successful in academic, athletic, computer, mathematical, dramatic and musical fields.

Mr. Michael Welch Principal, Framingham High ext. 27600

Mr. Welch has been the Principal at FHS since the 2005-06 school year. He holds a Master's degree in Administration, Planning, and Social Policy from Harvard University and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Rhode Island. Before coming to FHS, he was the principal at Newton South High School from 2000 – 2005, and prior to that he was a Housemaster/Vice-Principal at Newton North High School from 1997-2000. Mr. Welch began his teaching career as a substitute in four different communities and was a middle school Science teacher and a high school Physics teacher in Belmont for seven years. He grew up in Newport, Rhode Island and spent seven years as a collegiate rowing coach at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Mr. Welch and his wife have four children (two boys and two girls) ranging in age from pre-school to high school. He enjoys spending time with family, coaching youth sports, and many different home improvement projects. |

Mr. Mark R. Albright Vice Principal, Class of 2014 ext. 27620

Mr. Albright was born and raised on Nantucket Island. Growing up in such a small town truly influenced his values and highlighted the importance of communication and connecting with the community. This connection is something he feels is essential in a large and diverse town like Framingham. Prior to coming to work at Framingham High School, he was a mathematics teacher and subsequently a Housemaster at Newton South High School. He has a master's degree from the University of Massachusetts - Boston, where he is now an adjunct lecturer. When not working, he enjoys nothing more than spending time with his wife and two children.

Ms. Sarah M. Redbord Vice Principal, Class of 2015 ext. 27630

Mrs. Sarah (Matloff) Redbord began her career at FHS in 1996. She taught math for eight years before becoming a Vice Principal in 2004. Mrs. Redbord attended Hamilton College as an undergraduate and earned her Masters degree at Boston University. She enjoys spending time with friends and watching all kinds of sports, especially Yankee games.

Ms. Elyse Sakata Vice Principal, Class of 2012 ext. 27640

Ms. Sakata has centered her last eleven years in education around helping students learn how to advocate for themselves. She was a teacher of both math and English for seven years as well as an Assistant Housemaster and Alternative Program Director at Newton North High School. She came to Framingham High School in the fall of 2005, where she taught math for three years before taking her new role as a Vice Principal. Ms. Sakata enjoys cooking, traveling, watching the Celtics, and spending time with family and friends. She is eager and excited to be working with such a talented and vibrant community of educators and students in Framingham!

Mr. Jeff Convery Vice Principal, Class of 2013 ext. 27610

Mr. Convery was born and raised in Framingham. He comes from
a family of educators who have worked in the Framingham school system since
1953. He has a strong connection to the community and sees his ties
to Framingham as a tremendous asset to his work at the school. Mr. Convery
taught in the history department at Framingham High school for 11 years prior
to becoming a vice principal in 2011. He received his bachelor’s degree from
Framingham State University and he earned his Master’s degree from the
University of Massachusetts in Boston. Mr. Convery enjoys spending time with
his family and is as a New England sports fan. |
