Welcome to the Charlotte A. Dunning School. At Dunning, each child is provided with the skills necessary to become an active learner. Dunning is a respectful community dedicated to nurturing the natural curiosities and creative learning abilities of its children.
Our school is based on the core values of caring, appreciation, respect, best effort, and safety. Whether in the classroom, at our conservation area, or on field trips, our students are always growing and learning. We strive for all students to become thinkers and self-motivated problem solvers who will work cooperatively with one another.
In our quest for students to be literate in all areas, Charlotte A. Dunning is proud to be the home of the English as a Second Language (ESL) program. Dunning has had more than 33 languages represented in the school. Dunning provides its students with the building blocks necessary to become learners in our changing world.
We also aspire to link our students to the community through the Care and Share program as families provide monthly donations to the local food pantry, A Place to Turn.
Our parents are an integral part of our community, assisting in classrooms, reading in the library, and working together on the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Parents/Guardians enrich our community and provide that very important school to home link for our students.
Our primary goal is for both families and staff to work as a team to nurture the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of each child. Every member of the Dunning Community is empowered to take responsibility to reach his or her potential.
