Dr. Frank Tiano joined the Framingham Public Schools in July 2015 as the Assistant Superintendent of Schools. Prior to the Framingham Public Schools, Dr. Tiano served as Superintendent of the Chelmsford Public Schools from 2010 through 2015.
In 2014, Dr. Frank Tiano was selected by the U.S. Department of Education as one of 100 top school leaders from across the nation to participate in the first-ever National Connected Superintendents Summit at the White House. Dr. Tiano was among exemplary school leaders who were recognized for their leadership in helping transition their districts to digital learning.
A versatile leader, Frank Tiano served as President of the Merrimack Valley Superintendents Association and was awarded 'Service Above Self' by the Chelmsford Rotary. Dr. Tiano has been a featured speaker for the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents on a variety of topics, such as school safety, incident management, oversight of special education programs, as well as preparing the community for educational change.
Dr. Tiano holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Bentley College, a Masters in Education degree from Simmons College, and a Doctorate of Education degree from UMASS Lowell.
