Brief Statement of Subject Matter:
After completing grade 6, the student will be able to understand and speak, read and write a limited number of basic sentence patterns, based on a relatively small vocabulary. He/she will have been exposed to various aspects of French-speaking cultures.
General Objectives:

Students will express himself/herself orally, in original sentences, within the limits of learned vocabulary and structure.

Student will read, with correct pronunciation, material that has been introduced orally.

Student will master the sounds of the French language.

Student will write original sentences within the limits of learned vocabulary and structure.

Student will discuss in English differences and similarities between his/her culture and that of French-speaking countries.
Methods: Proficiency-based curriculum using transparencies, tape recordings and other teacher-prepared materials.
