FRENCH

Basic Text: Discovering French-Bleu Valette, Valette D.C. Heath, 1998

 

Lessons: Unites 1 & 2

 

Brief Statement of Subject Matter:

After completing grade 6, the student will be able to understand and speak, read and write a limited number of basic sentence patterns, based on a relatively small vocabulary. He/she will have been exposed to various aspects of French-speaking cultures.

 

General Objectives:

  • Students will express himself/herself orally, in original sentences, within the limits of learned vocabulary and structure.
  • Student will read, with correct pronunciation, material that has been introduced orally.
  • Student will master the sounds of the French language.
  • Student will write original sentences within the limits of learned vocabulary and structure.
  • Student will discuss in English differences and similarities between his/her culture and that of French-speaking countries.

 

Methods: Proficiency-based curriculum using transparencies, tape recordings and other teacher-prepared materials.

SPANISH
