Participates in

This April, Grade 7 is participating in an exciting new research project called EcoMUVE. EcoMUVE is a middle school ecosystems science curriculum that uses interactive virtual ecosystem simulations to help students learn about ecosystems and complex causality. EcoMUVE is sponsored by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES), a branch of the U.S. Department of Education. Harvard designed this curriculum based on national and state standards.
The EcoMUVE Pond curriculum will be taught to half of our classes and the Environmental Detectives comparison curriculum will be taught to the other half of our classes. Classes are chosen randomly. Regardless of the curriculum chosen, all students will learn the same information.
Since this is a research project, collecting your student’s data requires your signed consent. Only the research team, will have access to any of this data. All data collected kept completely confidential. Your child's anonymity and confidentiality will be preserved at all times.
If you have any further questions, please contact your student's teacher, Mrs. Callanan or Mr. Hamm
