Barbieri is a school that reflects a microcosm of society in its diversity. It is a school where children representing many cultural, social, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds work together in a challenging and exciting learning center. Our belief is that all children can learn. Our purpose is to develop well-rounded children who become lifelong learners and who achieve the highest levels of academic skills. Together we learn to embrace the fundamental human qualities of caring, compassion, understanding and appreciation of others.

Barbieri School has been in the forefront of innovative educational change and as a result has achieved local, state and national recognition for introducing numerous programs such as Reading Recovery, A Balanced Literacy Program, Second Language Learning, A Two-Way Bilingual Program, School Choice, Full Day Kindergarten, Computer Laboratories, Outdoor Environmental Education, Health Education, Handicapped Accessible Play Areas and a host of other effective educational processes.

Our school is sited on the largest and most beautiful campus in the MetroWest area. Two hundred acres of open land include scenic Farm Pond, Eames Brook, Cushing Park, many athletic fields, miles of walking paths and countless species of plants and animals.

The openness of our setting reflects life within the building. Classrooms are clustered around a common instructional media center where youngsters of different ages, linguistic and cultural backgrounds gather together for study and research.

Barbieri School will provide your child with a happy and successful educational experience. Every individual is valued, nurtured and led to be the best that he can be. We would be pleased to have your family join our school community. "Nuestra casa es su casa." Our house is your house!
Sincerely,

Dr. Susan J. MacGilvray-Rivet, Principal
