Barbieri Composting Program Goals and Objectives

Barbieri Compost Program Testimonials
I highly recommend volunteering for the Composting project if you can squeeze the 1/2 hour into your day! I got to participate last week with the 4th graders. They really do it all! The teachers, and the Department of Public Works liaison, Liz, have prepared them well for sorting out 'what the worms eat' from the true trash. And how wonderful that they can learn this important life skill at this early age! So if you can make even one 1/2 hour session, it will be well worth it for both you and the kids!

I enjoyed very much participating in this program. I was very impressed by how invested the kids were in making this work. The Compost Captains were awesome, taking their duties so seriously. I basically stood by and the kids did everything happily. They were knowledgeable and even corrected me when I said the napkins did not go on the compost. I commend the Town of Framingham for bringing this initiative to the schools. I believe that the younger kids will be just as enthusiastic as our 4th & 5th graders. What a valuable connection to the real world!! It is only by capturing this future generation’s interest that we will have a chance to save our planet.Sandra Acevedo - 4th Grade Parent

The coolest thing about composting is that you’re not wasting any food."
